Purpose of Position:
Plans and coordinates music for Traditional services to facilitate the full and active participation of the church congregation in weekly service.
Works with Pastor and other members of the Worship committee in planning.
Directs and leads sanctuary choir to support and enhance the worship service.
Knowledge of contemporary worship a plus.
Reports to Board of Administration.
Start Date:
January 2nd, 2024 Job Requirements:
Degree in music or equivalent experience.
Organ proficiency required.
Piano/keyboard proficiency a plus, however not required.
Knowledge of choir direction.
Familiarity with Lutheran order of worship and liturgy a plus, but not required.
Term:
Average 5-9 hours a week Salaried (based on experience) up to $14,000 annually.
No benefits except vacation.
Starting vacation - 2 Sundays per year - excluding major Church Holidays (Easter/Christmas).

Responsibilities:
1.
In conjunction with the Pastor, select hymns/other music for worship services which are joyful, praiseful, uplifting, melodious, and easy to sing.
2.
Provide prelude, service music and postlude music for service.
3.
Serve on the worship committee to develop worship services to fulfil the mission of Trinity.
4.
Improve and enhance the worship experience for those attending service.
5.
Coordinate and schedule a tuning and maintenance of organ.
6.
Must be available for special services, Lent, Advent, Christmas, Easter, and any other specials services deemed necessary by the Board of Elders.
7.
Coordinate music for weddings and funerals when requested.
(Separate compensation) 8.
Lead and develop the sanctuary choir.
9.
Plan music for sanctuary choir and schedule practices 10.
Choir participation in service can be 1-4 Sundays per month.
11.
Trinity has three services- availability to substitute for other team members when possible.
